Income Tax: How to Correct Your Tax Return?
If you notice an error or forget to include certain information in your income tax return, you may request a correction. The procedure depends on how you submitted your declaration (online or by paper) and on the period during which you make the correction.

If you identify an error after the filing deadline and you are within the correction period (generally from August to December 2026), you can modify your declaration online.
After receiving your tax notice, you can access your Personal Space on the official tax website and use the online correction service.
This service is also available if you completed your return through the automatic declaration process.
What can you modify?
You can correct certain information directly online, including:
- Amounts entered incorrectly in the tax return fields
- Boxes that were mistakenly selected or left unchecked
Once the correction request is submitted:
- A confirmation email is sent to you.
- A new tax notice is issued after processing.
- Your withholding tax rate is adjusted if necessary.
Important information

For these situations, you must submit your request through the secure messaging system available in your personal tax account.
