2025 Tax Season Now Open in France

The income tax filing season for 2024 earnings officially began on Thursday, April 10, 2025. As every year, taxpayers are required to declare their income, either online or using the paper form.

Key Information

All tax households in France must report income earned in 2024. The deadlines differ based on the method of filing:

  • Paper declarations must be submitted by May 20, 2025.

  • Online declarations have staggered deadlines depending on the taxpayer’s department.
For example, residents of Marne have until May 28, 2025 to file via impots.gouv.fr.

Important Update on Paper Filings

Starting this year, taxpayers who submitted their declaration online in 2024 will not receive a paper form by mail in 2025. This is part of a move toward digital-first services.
